Sorry Polly, Woman’s Law Still Touches Me.

In 2021, the Australian Psychoanalytical Society held a webinar series called “Two Way”. It was an exploration of the relationship between psychoanalysis and Australian Indigenous Culture. The papers presented in the series were recently published in the e newsletter, Psychoanalysis Downunder.

Here is my contribution, which focusses on my experiences of working as the Community Advisor to the Warmun Community at Turkey Creek in the East Kimberley Region of Western Australia in the early 1980s.

Allan grew up at Belmont, on the shores of Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle, NSW, Australia. In his early twenties, he completed his Commerce Degree with a major in economics and was employed as a management trainee with the BHP Pty Ltd.
